Procedure for the evaluation of articles
Every article received is read first before it is submitted to the expertise of at least two readers. Since 2014 at least one reader, external to the journal's editors, is appointed specifically for his or her expertise. If the two expert reports are negative, the article is rejected. In the case of contradictory expert opinion, a third reader is appointed. The expert reports are summarised and the synthesis is sent to the author, who in turn applies the necessary corrections or additions. The revised text is then examined by the journal's editors who may seek further clarifications. All contact between the expert readers and the authors is channeled through and guaranteed by the secretary of the editors or persons responsible for a dossier of articles. There is never any direct contact between the expert readers and the authors, who remain ignorant of the readers' identity.
